O2 have updated their website with full details of their price plans for the Palm Pre – and slightly surprisingly, they’re exactly the same as the iPhone 3GS. Many people commented that the Pre isn’t as good as the iPhone 3GS, therefore were expecting that the tariffs would be lower than the iPhone.
Also considering that the iPhone will be available on other UK networks in the next couple of months, it will be interesting to see if the Pre sells as quickly as when the iPhone was released, and if O2 lower the tarrifs before the end of the year.

The Palm Pre will be available from O2 on 16th October, which is slightly earlier than first thought. O2’s ‘in time for Christmas’ initial announcement was pretty vague, but many thought that November was a more likely release date, and was what I was told recently in an O2 shop. Perhaps O2 are keen to get it out sooner, and before the iPhone is available elsewhere to grab some of the initial market interest.
I was considering the Palm Pre when it was first released, but there have since been a few decent Android phones announced, with a few more ones coming out soon with the likes of the Motorola Dext.
I’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
